You've been on diets, food plans, gone to the gym, gone to Overeaters Anonymous meetings, learned about different ways to eat (keto, plant based, cave-man diet, etc), and still feel discouraged about whatever happens when eating goes haywire. 

Normal solutions:

1. Find The Key Solution. 

If I could just find the answer, the key, THEN I'll change my eating, my compulsive behavior, my habits around food. THEN I'll feel different. 

Wherever the answer's not here. 

2. I Have To Figure This Out Myself Solution.

Isn't it true that no one can do it for us? 

I don't want to connect with others and be influenced by them. They'll give me advice, tell me what to do, think they're right. I'll get too confused. 

Plus they might learn my dirty secrets when it comes to eating. I'm too ashamed, it's not safe to be around people. I just have to figure this out on my own. 

3. Bury The Pain Solution.

I really should get over my anxiety, the past, those difficult relationships. I can avoid people, places and situations that make me uncomfortable. 

But my life then gets very small. With a lot of energy focused on trying to hold back the urges, keep away from the food, and never attend events because of the people or food there. 

Trouble is, if we're busy burying our pain and struggle, figuring it out all alone and hunting everywhere for the key to peace with just never ends. 

It's so much work and energy.

You will learn what to do when feelings come to call in a stormy way, and how to feel confident about effectively working with your stressful thinking when it appears.

When you can do this, you can trust yourself. You can enter difficult situations of any kind--especially with food, eating, hunger, or fullness--and navigate through them. You can eat and take care of yourself with kindness, you can make conscious decisions (rather than panic-eating).
